A Bit About Me
I am a dedicated educator and curriculum leader with over two decades of experience in elementary education. I began my teaching career in 2000 as a first-grade teacher in Wethersfield, CT before joining Wallingford Public Schools in 2004. Throughout my tenure in Wallingford, I have served as a first and fourth-grade teacher, reading interventionist, district literacy coach, and, since 2019, the P-5 Humanities Curriculum Coordinator.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (University of Hartford),a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education (Southern Connecticut State University) and a Sixth Year Certificate in Remedial Reading and Language Arts Consultancy (Southern Connecticut State University). Additionally, I have earned an Administration and Supervision Certificate (Sacred Heart University).

I have led district-wide curriculum development initiatives and presented at state-level conferences. Last year I led a curriculum writing team of three to write a comprehensive K-3 ELA curriculum that was one of seventeen to receive the K-3 Reading Waiver from the state of Connecticut. Passionate about literacy and educational leadership, I am an adjunct professor at Southern Connecticut State University and sit on the Board of Directors for Wallingford’s Early Childhood Alliance Resource and Education (WECARE).

TESTIMONIALS
It has been a true privilege to work with Mrs. Angela Buccheri over the past 13 academic school years. In her current role as our district’s ELA Curriculum Coordinator, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with Angela on a variety of literacy initiatives. Her expertise in elementary literacy, foundational reading knowledge, and curriculum development has been an invaluable asset specifically in the building where I am the current elementary principal, and our district as a whole.

Mrs. Buccheri brings a deep understanding of how children learn to read and write to her instructional practices, and she consistently uses that knowledge to support teachers in delivering high-quality, research-based instruction in their classrooms each and every day. Her ability to translate complex literacy frameworks into clear, actionable strategies has empowered our educators and elevated literacy instruction across all grade levels within our eight elementary schools.

What stands out most about Angela is her unwavering commitment to student learning and teacher growth. She is a thoughtful listener, a knowledgeable guide, and a tireless advocate for effective literacy practices. Whether leading professional development, supporting curriculum alignment, or working one-on-one with teachers, Angela approaches every task with professionalism, passion, and purpose.

Her collaborative approach and dedication to excellence have had a lasting impact on our instructional practices and student outcomes within our district. I am grateful for her partnership and proud to work alongside such a skilled and inspiring leader in literacy education.
